map The Fox Creek Vol. Fire Rescue Department is no stranger to the extrication competition forum. In 1991 they attended their first competition in Prince George BC where they finished in second place. Then in 1992 they finished first in the Western Canadian’s in Lloydminster AB, and went on to represent Western Canada at the international competition in Cortland NY. In 1993 they attended the Western Canadian’s in Abbotsford BC, and the international competition in Louisville Kentucky. The Fox Creek Vol. Fire/Rescue started what is known today as the Northern Alberta Competition in 1993. In 1994 the department placed second in the Northern Alberta competition in Stony Plain AB, and went on to compete in the Western Canadian’s in Vancouver BC, the same year. In 1995 Fox Creek placed first in the Northern Alberta competition in Nisku AB, and went on to compete in the Western Canadian'’ in Calgary AB. In 1996, the department competed in the Northern Alberta competition in Mayerthorpe AB, and placed second. The same year Fox Creek hosted the Western Canadian’s and due to some last minute team cancellations, Fox Creek entered a team and entered first. Later that year the team competed in the international competition in Gainesville Florida. In 1997 Fox creek placed first in the Northern Alberta competition in High Level AB, and went on to finish first in the Western Canadian’s in Vancouver BC, as well as second place finish in the unlimited pit at the International competition being held at the same time in Vancouver BC. In 1998 Fox Creek placed first in the Northern Alberta competition held in Cold Lake AB. The department then placed second at the Western Canadian’s which were held in Yellowknife NWT.

Fox Creek is a small thriving community 260 km’s north of Edmonton along the infamous highway #43. Which is known as moose row. The department responds to approximately 40 major MVA's a year, and covers approximately 120 km of highway #43 and surrounding area.
