Elmer Harke Deputy Mayor Elmer has lived in Whitecourt for 25 years. In addition to serving as a Councillor for 15 ½ years, Elmer keeps busy as Chairman of the MPC, Chairman of the Regional Landfill, Member of the Ambulance Authority, and of the Joint Issues Committee. Elmer has taught school in Whitecourt for almost 22 years and is presently Assistant Principal of Central School. |

Deb Edney Councillor Deb has been a resident of Whitecourt for 11 years and a Councillor for 2 years. In addition to assisting her husband run their forest service business, Deb serves as a Member of the Ambulance Committee, MPC, and Regional Solid Waste Management Authority. She is also a Member of the Sagitawah Employment Services Board and Yellowhead East Business Development Corp. Deb believes that pride in our community is a key to our Town success and promotes Whitecourt’s numerous resources at every opportunity. |

Don Guenette Councillor Don is one of the newest member of Council, elected in October of 2001. Don has been a resident of Whitecourt for the past 24 years and is co-owner of Infratech Corporation. He serves as a Member of the Assessment Review Board, Subdivision and Development Appeal Board, Ambulance and Police Committee. In addition, Don is the President of the Canadian Alliance Constituency Board for the Yellowhead Region and he also has been actively involved with the Figure Skating Club for the past 12 years. |

Bill McAree Councillor Bill has been a Councillor for 8 years and has resided in Whitecourt for over 16 years. Bill is a paramedic and runs Whitecourt Associated Ambulance Service. Bill is also a member of the Community Association , Employee Relations Committee, and Municipal Development Plan Committee. He keeps busy in the community working with youth, safety training, and serving as a safety officer on the Whitecourt Fire Department. |

Nieta World Councillor Nieta is the other newest member of Council, having been elected in October of 2001. In addition to serving as a Councillor, Nieta is the Secretary/Treasurer for Living Waters Catholic Regional School Division No. 42. She is also a Member of the Community Services Advisory Board, Library Advisory Board, Assessment Review Board, Subdivision and Development Appeal Board and the Regional Solid Waste Management Authority. |
